Surgeon Noonan Society donated €28,000 to St. Joseph’s Mission Hospital in Lubwe, Zambia, a donation that accounted for 55% of the hospital’s annual budget for non-salary expenses. This vital support was directed towards crucial improvements within the hospital, including the construction of a new male ward and the redevelopment of the operating theatre.

In June 2024, Ella, Gearóid, Jimmy, Peter, and Sophie from the Surgeon Noonan Society had the privilege of travelling to St. Joseph’s as part of their elective placement, to witness the impact of the donation firsthand. They observed the building of the new male ward and renovating the operating theatre, both projects made possible by the funds raised throughout the year.
